   One of the reasons I no longer want to work with this particular startup: The founders keep calling our codebase "the codes", no matter how many times I tell them that it's not *that* kind of code. It suggests a fundamental lack of care for a very important company asset.

   They have sales and marketing backgrounds and it's painfully obvious. I think tech startups need founders with at least a little bit of tech knowledge.

      The founders are both about 25. The sales guy is the CEO and he is street smart but not book smart. His cofounder has a marketing degree, but is in reality a bit of a stooge to the CEO, and isn't what you'd call terribly bright. He says he used to smoke a lot of pot as a teenager. It shows.

         It was a mistake to sign a contract with them. They are irritating to be around and I want out of the contract, but that's difficult, since they already paid me.
