   De-activated Facebook yesterday as a result of an article I had my seventh grade students read. I already knew these things, but I couldn't stomach teaching it to my children without addressing it in my own life. Social exclusion on social networks can inhibit intelligent thought, this leads to depression, which increases susceptibility to advertising. In the words of Michael Stefanone, who conducted the research, Facebook is an "ad machine"
