GluedToTheScreen@DaDenMan The difference is one is a PROTOCOL that (despite initial contribution by G) will be standardized by IETF, whereas PRODUCTS are under Google's exclusive control... and they DO have a reputation for entering/exiting markets somewhat haphazardly.
