    Train travel is so much more civilized. Compared to flying its comfortable, cheap and significantly better for the environment. At least in Europe (and most of Asia, I believe). Back home in Canada, it's basically a luxury for rich people. Trains are super expensive for some reason. And, understandably, don't go nearly as many places.

      @ink_slinger My wife and I love the train. We want to do a cross-country trip on it and we'll have to save for a while for that to happen.

      That said, Toronto to Montreal is a pretty crowded trip. We've done it twice, once in the summer in a train car that had the heat on. We still liked it, though.

        @GeoffWozniak Yeah, it's not bad for some of the more populated commuter lines. Having the heat on in the humid southern Ontario/Quebec summer sounds brutal.

          @ink_slinger It sucked, but it wasn't the end of the world. Also, as my wife says, "It's a train!" :)

          It's still my favourite mode of travel.
