It's interesting to think about how in the past, king Henry VIII noticed the wealth, resources and land the catholic church had accumulated over the centuries and took it for himself when he became head of the English church. Destroying monasteries and redistributing the wealth... he used it to enrich himself and keep loyal allies to his cause. It was quite the grab.
