Very very pleasant evening at my first :rstats: users group meetup in Edinburgh. Lively too! Good talks, good chat, I'll be back for sure.

What did impress me is the range of people using R for their work - I met linguists, database engineers, statisticians, GIS mappers, ... Crazy. More glad than ever that I started learning this stuff (which is now almost exactly a year ago!).

Shame about the 2 hour journey each way to Edinburgh though ;)
