Strypey@b3yond @jeroenpraat at the Happy Valley occupation in Aotearoa (NZ), also a campaign against a new coal mine, there were a few solar panels which were used for charging comms equipment. Obviously they needed to be kept in an area that got plenty of sun. That was more than a decade ago though, and you can get much more charge for the same panel size nowadays.
