Don't be scared off by the mentions of Perforce and git. I really didn't have either before joining. I mean, I had used git clone, and that was enough. I knew some words like "rebase". Basically, they want someone with at least the vaguest sense of why version control is useful. Probably 99% of the people in the #fediverse are going to qualify on that particular measure.
