I have a situation where "random" directories are getting their ownership changed to root. Build servers seem to be causing this. n = 2, but that's what I've got. The permissions are also changing, not just ownership.
Anybody got any ideas as to what might cause that?-

@musicman If there are logs in those directories, I would suspect logrotate, which has had some recent changes in behavior. Recent being within a year or so on this server. -

@musicman Otherwise, look at any process that writes to (all of) those directories.
