Conversation

We built the noosphere, and it was terrible. Far from emerging into Chardin's gleaming promise of a transformed, elevated group consciousness we forged for ourselves new chains of identity and self and shackled ourselves to these, our lowest impulses, our most craven expressions of that identity. We transcended nothing. Group consciousness? We are a beast with no backs, turned forever inward, gnashing and biting and hungry.
