"Reassurance seeking rarely, if ever, provides relief - or not the specific kind of relief that people are seeking. Even if they get a positive response, e.g. ' You look great' or 'You can't notice it', (which is what they want), they don't feel any relief because their own doubts are so entrenched. And then they will find ways to reason this reassurance away too: 'They're just saying that to be nice', 'They don't want to hurt my feelings', etc. There is no relief (Or only very fleeting relief) because they are so convinced about how awful they look that they rarely trust what anyone says - and then the worry cycle starts again."
And you may wonder why saying that your GF's arse doesn't look big in her clothing doesn't work to reassure her. Well, here you go.
