I feel like a great feature of the fediverse that is not highlighted often enough is its resistance to filtering. The company I work for could block mastodon.social and I wouldn't even notice it.
Even if their block list was super extensive and included sunbeam city, I could still register chupacabra.rocks, run a one person pleroma instance and bless the world with my high quality toots from there.
