   Any suggestions for things to do in Orlando in January that don't involve Disney or Universal? Possibly could be interested in Universal as well.

         Cape Canaveral is not far. There's Sea World (which we aren't doing). Gatorland and airboat rides. We found three restaurants.
         
         Back in the late 80s the death !metal scene was big in Florida, although it was mostly centered around Tampa.
         
         My vote was to go to Miami away from all the commercial shit. I think my wife thinks Miami is literally just clubs and pork. No matter how much evidence I present to the contrary, she still thinks that.
