Dear HP, WTF kind of progress bar is this?

First you fail to detect the paper orientation halfway through my scan job, then you sign me out seconds after I've manually configured the job, before I can even load my originals, then you sign me out halfway through the scan job, then after signing in again and setting everything up again, the "scanner is busy", and now after rebooting I get this?

These products cost a fortune, but some modicum of quality control is too much to ask, I guess...?
