It's the new year and public domain is finally advancing again in the US. 1923 works are now public domain and I want to celebrate. I'd like to listen to music from that year and I'm looking for good sources. If anyone is sitting on 1923 music collections or can point me at them, it's legal now, so lets start sharing.

@tomasino sorta! This is complicated.
Music recordings, even from 1923, weren’t covered by copyright. They were covered by state constitutions and interstate trade agreements.
The compositions are in the public domain, and in many cases the recordings are as well, but it is not super clear cut.
Your best source for the music of the era is going to be archive.org’s great 78 collection, which can be viewed by year.
Give me a second, I’ll make a playlist.
