New Year’s reminder that ‘violence against first responders’ is a misleading phrase to make you imagine beaten up ambulance crews.
In reality a lot of ‘violence against first responders’ is actually ‘cops responded with violence to people having a party, those people defended themselves’ or ‘people who experienced police brutality all year used the availability of fireworks for a little spontaneous pay back’.
Don’t use the term ‘first responders’. If you see it, be suspicious.
