   A joke post in my home feed just caused me to remember that a Mormon kid who posted on a forum I used to frequent thought masturbation was gay. His mom told him it was gay because it was "getting sexual pleasure from a male" (i.e., himself). As he and his family were also homophobic, this made the poor guy really confused about...well, sexuality in general.

      Mostly, he wasn't hateful to the few openly gay people on the forum and he was, I think, quite young. I wonder how he's doing and if he managed to break free of his family's weird indoctrination or if he leaned into it and is now a real bigot.

      I know I dropped a lot of the learned homophobia I had as a teenager because of conversations I had on that site. Hopefully, he did too.

         @ink_slinger or maybe he accidentally touched his penis and realized he was gay because the lord didn't strike him down in place.
