    Youtube is really good at recommending videos I like. This is because it fills my recommendations with videos I've already hit the like button on. I mean, you can't go wrong with this strategy, but boy does it make the recommendations useless.

      @kaikatsu YouTube's understanding of my personal interests and hobbies is roughly on par with that of my mother's. Both lovingly get the general idea, but are hazy on the details. When it comes to determining what I might want, my mother is the wiser one, however. She stays away from personalised choices and just gives me socks, underwear and scarfs; stuff that everyone needs. YouTube is out of luck here, because there are no videos that everyone needs to watch, so mum wins this one.
