@lightdark @schlink in my experience the costs depends greatly on the usage. I have single user instances that require more resources to run, than instances with thousands of users.
Things like federation relays and number of followers/following can greatly influence the resources needed.
That is why I changed the pricing structure. Still I believe that the old plans/pricing gives a good idea on the average costs per user https://masto.host/old-pricing/ (self-host could should be similar to that)
