@incognitoburrito I want to +1 'comment on stuff you like'. There's a principle in psych called "reinforcement", that says that whatever you give attention or reactions to gets reinforced. In doesn't matter if the reactions is praise ("positive reinforcement") or call-outs ("negative reinforcement"), the behaviour gets reinforced anyway, is likely to continue. So use your time and attention thoughtfully, and direct it towards what you want to encourage, not discourage.

@incognitoburrito BTW that's one of the reasons net culture greyhairs say "don't feed the trolls!". Hating on them or debating them is "negative reinforcement", it just encourages them. Note that I'm using "trolls" here in the original sense of a person making intentionally annoying shiptoasts, arguing in bad faith etc. I'm not talking about people engaged in dedicated harassment like flooding, dogpiling, doxxing etc. That's a different set of things, and requires different responses.
