@Batcastle funny thing, all the Wii sensor bar is, is an IR emitter. It doesn't actually do any kind of signal processing, THAT was done by the Wiimote itself.
I know you used to be able to find wireless sensor bars that ran off of AA batteries. Might even be able to rig an adapter for the vanilla sensor bar.
