If you have private or sensitive data on you computer, please consider to encrypt it.
Even more is it's a laptop, it should be mandatory even without those data.
And don't forget to lock your screen every time you leave it (even if it's for 4 seconds).

Depending of your Operating System, you should look at:
Linux: Luks
BSD: ZFS
Windows: Veracrypt
MacOS: FileVault

Nowadays encryption can be really easily made, think about it (and don't forget to backup your data)
