      @pzmyers It took Thomas Piketty 10 years, maybe even 20, to find data about income and property that could be compared meaningfully across the decades, and that was data for only a century.

      If only the most brilliant economist of our times had asked Bill Gates! The billionaire's friends are apparently sitting on date for two centuries!
