There is some intense attraction that binds people to #Facebook, and that's not counting the very real "losing contact with all my 'friends' when I leave" effect.

It would be interesting for behavioral researchers to figure out how Facebook (and similar sites, but FB is currently the biggest) gains that sort of hold over people and how people can become resistant to this external manipulation.
