   I've also found that I've been utterly spoiled when it comes to knowledge about software, particularly when it comes to proprietary software. When they try to sell me on how secure they are... I'm like, "Uh huh... tell me more like I believe you."

      It's not especially you it's the whole world that is like that. To my knowledge few teachings were correctly made for users in general most of them still don't represents/interprets correctly the difference between digital tools and non-digital tools.
