lostinlight@cwt Do you mean random users? In Mastodon, server running latest version will have an explore folder (server.com/explore), and there's also https://communitywiki.org/trunk. In Friendica and Hubzilla they have similar user directories (Friendica example: https://dir.friendica.social/directory/people). Both Friendica and Hubzilla also have forums - groups where one can meet like-minded people. In diaspora the only way is searching for specific hashtags to find users who write about these things.
