    I'll probably not manage to cover everything in a single toot, but alas, let's start somewhere:

    - reasonable printers start at $150
    - filament is somewhere between $10 and $30 per kg (2.2lbs)
    - software is mostly opensource and free
    - you usually print at around 50mm per second, with variable layer heights (between 0.05mm and 0.5mm)

    Durability heavily depends on the material used. PLA is easy to print, but won't last as long as ABS or PETG. There is also TPU, a flexible material.
