It's cool that WhatsApp wants to save my message history to Google Drive, so I can keep them when I transfer to a new device or whatever but, uh, that sort of defeats the point of e2e encryption (and, yes, I know Signal is likely a far better choice than WhatsApp, but I was able to convince a few people to use WhatsApp, whereas I couldn't get anyone to use Signal). So, no, WhatsApp, I don't want to backup my messages. Stop asking.
