If #vaccination is just a common sense thing, supported by all the evidence, how come this kind of intense public shaming and guilt tripping is necessary to convince people to take it up? When narcissistic PR strategies are being used to push something this hard, it makes me more sceptical, not less:

    1. Worried mother: Anti-vaxxers the 'ugliest form of privilege'
      from Radio New Zealand
A Canterbury mother of an 8-month-old who is too young to be immunised against measles is calling anti-vaxers the ugliest form of privilege. George Cullen says she's angry people would chose to put others at risk.

@strypey It may not be productive or well thought through. Mostly it's just people being fed up with people being wrong on the internet, especially when it's putting children in harm's way.

@strypey Anti-vaccination sentiment is older than the official debut of vaccinations and the coinage of the word, and the arguments are the same as ever -- they don't work, they're harmful, it's against nature/God, you're better off getting sick -- all based on misconceptions and spin when it comes to standard schedule vaccines, but the "new" one is the autism scare, which may have been founded on genuine concern and caution back in the 90s before Wakefield, but cannot today be called anything but a thoroughly debunked complete fabrication.
