@Are0h I don't agree. Martin Luther King and Gandhi are notable examples of people who stood up to and rose above incredible, widespread, outrageous, open bigotry and hatred with non-violent civil action. Throughout history, there were, and are, many other courageous individuals like them.
Violence (or advocating for it) clashed with their personal ethics and ideals. They weren't a part of the problem. They were a part of the solution.
