@koenaro @remotenemesis i have a couple of very short scripts i wind up using a surprising amount for this:

ctrl-x to cut, run edit-clipboard-gvim, do some edits, :wq, ctrl-v to paste.

now that i think about it, a hotkey really wouldn't be a bad idea... i miss when i had a browser plugin that'd just do this without a lot of fuss.
