Just successfully recovered my GNU Social instance from a database corruption due to a power cut. Thank goodness I keep daily backups! Data worth around 15 hours is lost, but that's not much for a small instance (< 5 members) like mine and it's a lot better than having my instance wiped off the face of the Internet.
