Today my son and I sang in the choir for a village wedding. Bride, nervous and beautiful, hair up beaded headband and lace dress. She was well over 70, her first wedding. She had a poem read that was written by her father, titled 'For Audrey Mary 1944'
If at the end I find you still the same
In faith, in love, as when you took my name
For yours; if still your gentleness and charm
And truth and simple kindliness remain,
Then from this war we shall have had no harm. #smallstories 1/2
