    @adam Not sure if this had been mentioned yet, but the term "newcomers" is a reference to the aliens that crash to earth in the movie, Alien Nation. They were an race of slaves that, with no way of going home, were forced to assimilate into the human population. Pretty good movie from the late 80's. https://m.imdb.com/title/tt0094631/
