   Sirius XM is relentless. They somehow know that we bought a used car that's equipped for satellite radio (probably the dealership sent them a ping?), so they've been calling my wife non-stop and finally sent us a thing in the mail saying we should sign up for a 3-month trial, which I would actually consider except that I'm sure it'll auto-switch to a paid subscription after that, and I have no interest in dealing with cancelling it in time to avoid paying for it.

      @ink_slinger if you dont pay, they have "XM preview" two months a year in the summer and fall IIRC.

      those are the only two months I use it, bought the car new and never activated a subscription on it.

            @ink_slinger yep, phones home all the time regardless of whether you have a subscription or not. then you get the base set of channels for usually a whole month, and it seems not to be automated because sometimes they leave it on for another week or so into the next.

               @thurloat That's good to know, and kinda funny that they run the free preview in the summer, when people are most likely to be on road trips (which, sure, is when they're mostly likely to listen to satellite radio, but also when they're presumably most likely to actually pay for it if they weren't getting it for free).

      @ink_slinger I couldn't justify the expense of Sirius, but I made a point of listening a lot during my trial period. Mostly "Soultown".

         @mpjgregoire Yeah, I can't imagine paying for it, but am tempted by the free trial.
