   Dude, you were the chair of the committee holding the hearings. I call BS.

      @hhardy01 If he had said he was sorry he *wouldn't* give her the hearing she deserved, he would have come of about ten times as sincere as he comes off saying he *couldn't* do it for her. He is implying that he was a helpless cog in the machinery and is not really providing an apology at all.
