Publisher Sues AdBlock Plus For Copyright Infringement
      By Andy from TorrentFreak
German publisher Alex Springer is suing the company behind Adblock Plus for copyright infringement. According to the company, which owns Bild and Die Welt, among others, ad blockers endanger digital journalism and "change the programming code of websites."

@mangeurdenuage I remember times when it was called "mark-up" or "layout"…
And the sentiment that the user should control what data they are getting isn't even worth considering anymore.

Alex Springer does not know what they are talking about. They are just as usual using their own interpretation/definition and also using the technological ignorance of the judge to get what they want.
          >And the sentiment that the user should control what data they are getting isn't even worth considering anymore.
Most computer users cannot even control their own operating system even if they wanted too.

The "market" (directors and lots of other people) adapts to the consumers, if the majorities of consumers are ignorant about the usage of their computers then they'll get abused at some point. But if the majority of people do know how to use and configure their products then the sellers will have to adapt to the demands of these users.

You can easily see that in computers sold for the average users, be it hardware or software. The software quality and design continues to evolves in a non positive way. Same for the hardware, quality of parts and design is awful nowadays even for so called "professional" computers. https://loadaverage.org/attachment/4105725
