   other things i wanted to configure tonight:

   * git hooks for static site generation
   * ripcord instead of electron for slack/discord (cancel.fm)
   * hop onto the aether network (getaether.net)
   * ascii drawing tool for vim (Drawit) or in general

   and i made varying degrees of progress on all of them, which was fun.
   if only i was up for some creative coding or music making that would've really made my night a blast.

      status of things i wanted to do:

      * git hooks completed
      * ripcord configured, .desktop file not yet working (i always struggle with these...)
      * DrawIt and asciio both installed, now I just gotta figure out how they work and which one I want to use

      the only thing i couldn't do was fucking install the snap package for aether because it's a nightmare. even after i installed it, it wouldn't start up, and wouldn't spit any error messages. no fix on the forums. oh well, guess no aether, that's fine.

         now i want to setup the git hook such that it automatically updates my dat page too...

         that's horribly out of date...
