I think there are few technologies that have promised more potential and missed the mark than HD radio in the USA. It's partly because of the ubiquity of Internet streaming, but also because radio has no creativity anymore. What could be 2-3 additional channels of creativity are either non-existent (see the closure of WRIF's HD2 station) or "alternative rock" stations. Yippee.

@craigmaloney I've got shares in iHeartMedia, Beasley Broadcasting, Tegna, Scripps, Salem, Entercom, and SiriusXM. Not enough to spark any proxy battles, alas. Sirius owns Spotify and Scripps owns Stitcher, too. Corporate consolidation hasn't been a good thing for broadcasting and is strangling the Internet now.
