I don't like having a lot of rules but I don't like the absence of rules either.
If there are no rules there is no 'set of agreements' that you can remind someone of if they contravene despite agreeing to them beforehand. If there are a lot of rules it becomes complex and the only way to abide is to study them.
You end up with either unspoken rules or loopholes based on ambiguities of language used to describe what you can't do that can only be deduced by a solicitor.
