An argument AGAINST that snarky smart-alec quip, β€œEvery corpse on Mt. Everest was once a very motivated person” : https://joindiaspora.com/posts/13519102

    1. "Every corpse on Mt. Everest was once a very motivated person." But...

"Every corpse on Mt. Everest was once a very motivated person." But how many percent of very motivated people who went to Mt. Everest, actually wound up as a corpse? β€” β€” Sure maybe only 50%-70% of people who actually went to Everest in the past decade or so actually summited, and maybe 30%-40% only went part-way, but died? Ten percent? Twenty at most maybe? Don't listen to pessimist fearmongers. β€” β€” Oh and of course: it is important to be well-prepared when attempting something potentially life-threatening. Like trying to summit Mt. Everest, for example. β€” β€” #fz_thinkingOutLoud
