@moonman That's peculiar. Are you on a watchlist somewhere? Or maybe you had a card issue with a previous order and they just decided it isn't worth the risk and hassle.

I had ordered laptops for the family through Dell on a payment plan. For some reason, after I ordered and the machines were delivered, they decided to change the billing address to somewhere I had never lived*. I'd have to call them to correct it, then within a couple of weeks, they'd change to the mistaken address again.
So I got a P.O. box. This succeeded in keeping the billing at a place where I would receive it. But then, I went to order something through NewEgg. They wanted to ship it to the same address Dell used, and refused to ship either to my home address or the P.O. box, because "their records said" I lived at that other address.
Even today, I occasionally deal with a bank / IRS / cellular company identity verification questionaire that has that address in it.
* I had lived next door to that address one year, and around the corner a couple of years earlier. The house was vacant for years, and as far as I know, USPS wasn't delivering mail there.

@lnxw48a1 NewEgg is atrocious for that kind of thing, they actually have a reputation for it. Many storage places have community mailboxes or similar they rent, this is what I use for my packages.
