I love black olives. I keep trying to like green olives, but it's not easy. Do you know what the actual difference is between black olives and green olives? Black olives are ripe. That's it... Same plant. Same fruit. One is ripe, one is not.

Incidentally, the same thing is true of green, yellow & red bell peppers. I always thought I hated bell peppers until I tried a ripe one.
