I'm forming a somewhat controversial theory about (male) geeks, intelligence and maturity:
Geeks are intelligent at an early age and retain a certain playful and rebellious nature far into adulthood. The price they pay for this is delayed emotional maturity, which is why they often maintain an interest in things like comics, cartoons and video games, and also why they often have problems finding a mate. Women instinctively seek a protector, and geeks still seek safety instead of providing it.
