@applebaps see, that's such a good way of putting it! as a musician, i'm more interested the elegance of the problem than the solution. solutions are for musicologists and music critics (hopefully, anyway). and computer scientists, in that "CS degree" sort of way.

this is the same way i look at coding, too. it may not be practical, but in both cases, having that be the parameters *all* the time? that's neither robust or healthy.
