I'm reading a book called 'Slave Narratives: A Folk History of Slaves in the US'. It's basically a collection of stories from slaves still alive in the 1940s. Most are 80-90 years old.
I'm only 20% finished but one of the things that stuck out to me is one of them said, this is a quote from my memory, "Dey's good folk and bad folk in de Klux", which reminded mel of Trump saying there were good people and bad in Charlottesville.
