I wonder if the recent WhatsApp vulnerability will help convince people to switch to Signal. Because I'd rather use Signal, but basically no one I know uses it. WhatsApp is the compromise solution that I've actually been able to convince a few people to use.

I just need to get my parents on board so the family group chat is finally the whole family instead of just my brothers and my wife. No more confusing email chains of broken text threads (because my dad's phone breaks MMS into SMS).
