Large unions with single or only a few leaders = only a few people they have to corrupt to quash labour movements. We see this especially in Canada where some unions are required membership by law such as the teacher's union (CUPE) or the Public Servant's union. You also see a version of this with the competent persons scheme in the UK, its all about profitability, and the pretense of being for the worker or consumer has been almost dropped in particular. NAPIT in the UK is in particular one big serial offender.
