@kaniini The one thing I always remember is a Gnome showing up on Transmission's bug tracker ordering them to kneecap its functionality to fit with their aesthetic.

@flussence yes, precisely. with audacious it was the same way, whenever we had problems, they would tell us to decide if we were a "GNOME app" or not. audacious isn't an app specific to any desktop environment, so we always found that to be extremely arrogant. -

@kaniini One thing that doesn't get enough publicity imo is that audacious doesn't even have to be a GUI app. The dbus CLI thing is pretty janky but it's perfectly possible to run it headless.
