while walking to school in the mornings I engage the boys in all manner of intellectual pursuits. Today we discussed how to Defeat Rain. I made several proposals, a rejected:

- force rain to manifest 1" above grass (impractical, clouds required)
- move everything we care about into the sky, above the rain clouds (no food)
- move everything but farmers into the sky and use birds to deliver food (birds would eat the food)
